HP has reduced the price for upgrade kits that take lower-end and midrange Series 9x8 systems into the realm of the high end. The kits deliver a Series 988RX, a 4-IO slot unit with a relative performance of 5.1. HP’s performance charts show that the unit is about four times faster than a Series 918, and is somewhat slower than a Series 959. HP’s charts say the system will support about 500 users at maximum levels, and customers can connect as many as 1,000 workstations.
