Advanced Network Systems, Essex team up for migration

IBM Premier Business Partner Essex Technology Group announced a strategic alliance with HP 3000 software and consulting supplier Advanced Network Systems (ANS, www.advnetsys.com). The two firms will offer HP 3000 sites “a comprehensive range of migration solutions to HP e3000 customers in the manufacturing, distribution, and retail industries.” The customized solutions will run on the IBM iSeries servers, formerly known as AS/400s.

The ANS Web-enabled software solutions running on Java will form the core of the alliance, applications written to run on any platform that offers full Java support. “Our alliance completes our migration solution for the HP e3000, allowing us to create a unique solution for our customers,” said David Thatcher, President of Advanced Network Systems. “Essex Tech’s vanguard position with IBM servers, coupled with our extensive knowledge of the HP e3000 and business/e-business applications, bring a complete solution for any HP e3000 customer looking for a cost-effective total solution. We see the iSeries as the most logical and obvious choice in many cases for HP e3000 customers.”

Essex brings expertise in iSeries integration to the partnership. “Our alliance with ANS adds a new dimension to our solutions-based model,” says Bill Conwell, VP of Strategic Alliances for Essex. “Our leadership position in infrastructure consulting for IBM eServers, combined with ANS’s development and consulting leadership on a competitive platform, will provide a significant opportunity to help a market segment in search of a quality single-source solution.”
