Amisys users pull together for an update next month

Some of the few customers who can actually make a migration to HP-UX from the 3000, the sites running Amisys 3000, are gathering to compare notes in a user group meeting next month at Gaithersburg, Md. Sept. 8-10. Amisys announced that it’s released the last version of its Amisys 3000 MPE/iX software, and Amisys Advance for HP-UX has gone out to a handful of beta sites this summer. At its September meeting the user group will also look at how the Amisys software helps healthcare organizations comply with the new HIPAA regulations. “This will be our first opportunity to hear from the beta Amisys Advance site and learn their approach to conversion,” said meeting coordinator Kathy Taylor. “We will also have a full day (actually two half-days) of technical sessions focusing on Oracle, MicroFocus COBOL, and HP. Other sessions will include a HIPAA update, corporate and subcommittee updates, as well as plenty of networking time.” Users need to register by Aug. 22, and at $175 per attendee, the show’s cost is one of the more attractive offerings on the training schedule. Registration should go to WO180, Amisys, LLC, P.O. Box 7777, Philadelphia, PA 19175-0180.
