ERP vendor eXegeSys signs deal to move BRW to non-3000 environments

eXegeSys, Inc. announced it has signed agreements with the HP for the conversion and continued development of HP Business Report Writer (BRW), a commercial reporting utility that has previously been available only for the HP e3000 computer family.

The focus of the agreement is not to expand the features of the report writer on the HP 3000. eXegeSys noted that it intends to develop derivations of BRW for Microsoft Windows, HP-UX Unix, and Linux platforms, ports of the product for use by its e3000 eXegetic Resource Planning clients. “Making BRW available on these platforms will be a major benefit to customers seeking a smooth and easy migration of their existing reporting,” eXegySys officials said. The company plans to sell the re-hosted BRW to other e3000 customers who are migrating and require BRW as a part of their tool set.
