3K’s NetMail, DeskLink get new US sales, support outlet

3k Associates announced that it has signed a sales and support agreement with Entrix Computing, naming the company as its worldwide distributor of the NetMail/3000 and DeskLink software products.

Entrix assumed responsibility on May 1 for all sales and support of the solutions installed throughout the world. Entrix has been the European distributor of NetMail/3000 since 1993, virtually the entire time the HP 3000 mail services solution has been on the market. Entrix opened a US-based office in Salem, Oregon last year, and will service North American customers through that facility.

Officials from the two firms said that the changes will allow 3k Associates “to concentrate on developing and maintaining the existing product line, while Entrix, who already sell and support the products in Europe, extend their responsibility worldwide.”

“Entrix Computing has been the European distributors of NetMail/3000 for six years,” said 3k founder Chris Bartram. “Their experience in selling and supporting the products and their extensive knowledge of the HP 3000 operating environment made them the first choice when 3k looked for a partner to represent their software.”

NetMail/3000 provides an Internet-compliant e-mail server for the HP 3000. Users employing either terminals or PC clients get access to e-mail through NetMail, which was the first Internet-compatible (SMTP and MIME standard) electronic mail system ever available for the HP 3000. Output from applications residing on the HP 3000 can be e-mailed to any address anywhere, as well as being integrated with HP 3000-based fax services if required. NetMail/3000 automatically processes inbound mail messages and can seamlessly pass data to existing applications. DeskLink is the Internet-compliant gateway for users of HPDesk or HPOpenDesk.
