Omnidex boosts performance for ARGI publishing services

Automated Resources Group, Inc. (ARGI, 201.391.1500) is integrating Omnidex client-server and Web-enabled technology from DISC (303.444.4000) into its database marketing, data warehousing and subscription fulfillment services for the publishing industry. ARGI, formed in 1971, has been an HP Channel Partner for 25 years.

ARGI’s Database Marketing and Subscription Fulfillment services in Montvale, N.J. provide Web-enabled, real-time, online data query capabilities that are easy to use and have flexible search abilities. By integrating a Web-enabled version of Omnidex and its ODBC driver, ARGI can develop reports for clients with the latest front-end PC tools such as Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports and Brio. Clients can connect from desktops either by high-speed frame relay communications lines or through the Internet.

Hank Garcia, ARGI Executive Vice President, said, “Our clients need to track and analyze hundreds of marketing attributes for each database record. Since marketing databases are very difficult to tune because of the inherently unpredictable nature of marketing queries, we turned to Omnidex.”

Using the Omnidex database search engine, Garcia said, “We can now provide powerful, Web-enabled and real-time data access by any combination of criteria, and deliver instant query results. And HP servers deliver a proven architecture with round-the-clock 24x7 reliability 365 days a year.”

Clients enter search criteria directly into the system and instantly receive a qualified count. They then have the ability to further narrow or broaden the criteria in order to match a desired count. The ARGI Subscription Fulfillment and Database Marketing systems provide instant lookups by 320 different attributes on data tables that contain millions of records for some clients. The search engine now lets clients spot trends more quickly, identify new marketing opportunities, and break out specific market segments for special action using PC tools or the Web.
