Accounting app gains document imaging solution

Mitchell Humphrey (800.237.0028) has released a new document imaging solution, FMS-DocuView, which interoperates with the company’s HP e3000 and NT financials package FMS II. Mitchell Humphrey hopes to promote the paperless office concept and conserve resources with FMS-DocuView, enabling users to scan documents such as invoices, warranties, contracts or maintenance records and associate them with a specific FMS entity such as a customer, vendor or asset. Once the documents are scanned into the system, users can perform online inquiries and drill-down to view the image file. System managers can give certain users the ability to attach notations to an image, highlight portions of an image or tag the image with a specific status, such as RECEIVED or PAID.

“FMS-DocuView saves space by eliminating the need to keep large paper files,” according to a company press release. The software can also “save money, by keeping all relevant documents needed to perform an audit within the system, so auditors can quickly and easily access the required information.”

The add-on software can be purchased by customers running FMS II Vintage 29, the latest release of the FMS software. FMS-DocuView is currently shipping to new customers, and will be available to existing customers in October.
