OmniSolutions releases new GUI/3000 version with monitoring tools

OnmiSolutions is shipping the Millennium Edition (Version 4) of GUI3000/iX, software which monitors HP 3000 systems, devices, consoles and clients in its newest release. The software communicates with HP 3000s and runs on PC clients.

The new System Monitor can be docked on the screen, float, or be hidden. The software’s Server Window now tracks Clients, to see who is connected to a server process; Console Logs, to examine and print logs from all connected systems, and filter console events; and Devices, to put devices up and down, issue spooling commands, or put a DAT drive online. A double-click on a volume set now displays the groups and directories.

GUI3000/iX now has a System Monitor to watch events across all connected servers, which allows administrators and managers to pre-empt problems. The software’s new options in File Explorer include the ability to select a group of files and store them to tape in the background or e-mail files as text or attachments. A built-in link to Whisper Technology’s Programmer’s Studio allows editing.

The Database Explorer creates a Microsoft Access look-alike of any TurboIMAGE database and populates it with data in one step. IMAGE and Omnidex indexes are preserved. The Explorer now supports linking of datasets for retrieval. Administrators can see data in a dataset by right-clicking on the set and selecting Show Data.

The GUI3000/iX Spool File Explorer now supports formatted display and printing of spool files, exports to HTML, text and PDF Files, and e-mails spool files as text or attachments. The software’s Job and Session explorer now supports multiple job queues on MPE/iX 6.0 and above. The utility also supports HFS directories and Unix systems, and is shipped with a simple Telnet terminal emulator.
