Save money on support: get MPE/iX certified

HP rolled out its first customer tests for MPE/iX certification at HP World, and it can pay off to pass them if you’re a MANMAN site. The Support Group Inc., which provides services to help manage manufacturing on HP 3000s, is cutting a lower rate for client companies that get certified on MPE/iX. “We think it will be a lot easier to support knowledgeable IT people, so we’re rearranging our pricing and making it less expensive for a company with HP Certified people,” said TSG’s CEO Terry Floyd. The $60 test can be scheduled at any Sylvan testing center in the US by calling 888.895.6162 or on the Sylvan site at www.2test.com.TSG is cutting rates by 10 percent for certified sites. “MPE/iX certification would mean they really understand how to handle most situations,” Floyd said. “They will be a lot easier to talk to than a company that has just one person who knows how to edit files on an HP 3000.” TSG is also running a “three years for the price of two” sale on support contracts.
