Cognos to study support for Eloquence

Powerhouse and Quiz supplier Cognos reports that it is considering support of the HP Eloquence database. The database which operates as a workalike for IMAGE/SQL on Windows NT and Unix platforms is being considered by users of the company’s rapid development software, according to Application Development tools director Carol Thompson.

“Our current set of production releases do not support HP Eloquence,” she said. “It has only been recently, for obvious reasons, that any of our customers have even expressed an interest. In the context of assisting our customers as they make their business decision regarding migrating off the HP 3000 to another platform, we are looking into the feasibility of providing HP Eloquence support in PowerHouse on HP-UX and NT at some point in the not-too-distant future.”
