Eloquence was signing on with North American partners after HP World

MB Foster became a distribution point and support resource for Eloquence after HP World, taking a further step into the world of selling databases which don’t run on HP 3000s. MB Foster has been an Oracle partner for 10 years, and now will sell and provide front-line call support for Eloquence, the database HP was promoting at the conference as a workalike substitute for TurboIMAGE and IMAGE/SQL for customers migrating applications from the HP 3000. MB Foster founder Birket Foster added that the company will also offer training and consulting in Eloquence.

“This fits well with our distribution and support experience,” he said. “As a distributor we can provide a unique value proposition with full service and software support including migration expertise and experience. We have been helping customers with data migration for more than 20 years, and provide a complete solution with the UDA family of products especially UDACentral, our data migration console.” MB Foster will also help implement the Eloquence Partner Program, which provides a free copy of Eloquence to ISVs and consultants “to assist and to encourage them to familiarize themselves with Eloquence. We know this will be an important option of our migration practice.” Marxmeier AG president and Eloquence creator Michael Marxmeier said his company, which is taking over the Eloquence intellectual property rights from HP, “has been working with MB Foster for some time now, and they have demonstrated a excellent technical understanding of the concepts and technology behind Eloquence.”

At least one more North American resource has appeared for Eloquence, as Robelle’s Bob Green started up Eloquence 3000 Inc. to provide software and answer questions about the product. Green’s Web site is www.eloquence3000.com, while MB Foster is gathering requests for Eloquence training, consulting and information at www.mbfoster.com/migration/hpeloquence.cfm.
