| HBOC and McKesson
tie the knot, officially
The supplier of one of
the hottest HP 3000 applications, Amisys, officially moved in with McKesson
Corp. when HBO & Company approved the merger of the two firms. At
separate meetings respective stockholders each voted to approve the merger
of a wholly owned subsidiary of McKesson with and into HBO & Co. The
companies began operations as McKesson HBOC Inc. in mid-January, growing to
the size of a Fortune 100 corporation and the world’s largest
healthcare services company. McKessonHBOC named Brett Himes to the new
position of vice president, finance, of its Health Systems Business. Himes
will provide “strategic financial management and oversight for the
Health Systems Business and its units.”
