Sales continue to rise in North America for 3000s

Whatever HP’s forecast about the 3000 community’s health in 2006, the current figures belie any demise in sales. North American distributor Client Systems, which ships four out of every five HP 3000s on that continent, reported another month that beat its records during February. Shipments in numbers were up 23 percent over the best February on record before now, evidence that the installed base is stocking up on the new A-Class and N-Class systems at a rate better than HP has seen in years. The monthly record was the fourth straight one posted by the North American distributor, all reported since HP announced it will pull out of the 3000 market at the end of 2006.
