Interex named a new executive director

After an extensive search of more than four months, the HP users group Interex hired Darryl Armstrong to the position of Executive Director effective March 5, succeeding Chuck Piercey who retired March 1. Armstrong reports to Interex’s board of directors and is the user group’s CEO, responsible for the overall management of the user group’s staff and activities. The new director comes to Interex after more than five years as executive VP of marketing and sales and COO of Computer Training Resources, a Silicon Valley training company with four branches. Interex said CTR is the largest computer applications training company in Northern and Central California and Oregon. Prior to CTR, Armstrong was President of Blair College in Colorado Springs, Colo., a private, for-profit business and medical college with more than 600 students and the second oldest college in Colorado. Armstrong also has over 15 years of marketing, sales, and advertising experience. He graduated in 1971 from the University of South Florida with a degree in Marketing and English as a pre-law major.
