Open Seas announced the acquisition of Fantasia

The UK firm (www.openseas.co.uk), a distributor and support outlet for HP 3000 software since 1992, bought the electronic forms package and its customer base from Canadian firm JetForm. Open Seas also announced that as part of this acquisition it will now be the exclusive worldwide support agent for both JetForm Merge and JetForm Central. “Customers will benefit from Open Seas’ commitment to the e3000 platform, focused support and increased value for their dollar,” said Jason Kent, Managing Director for Open Seas UK. “Back in the late 80s, my first job in the HP 3000 environment was to sell and support Fantasia for Proactive Systems. Acquiring the product now is like a homecoming; we have come full circle.” A new release is planned for the first quarter of next year. Existing contracts will remain full and in effect. Once contracts expire, reoccurring support contracts will come from directly Open Seas. Martin Gorfinkel, creator of Fantasia, will remain on contract to provide continued support and development through the Open Seas office in Los Altos, Calif.
