Quest got its SharePlex technology adopted by an ASP provider

Quest Software, which provides the system replication technology in HP’s SharePlex and its own NetBase products for the HP 3000, announced it has tied up a deal with USinternetworking to supply Shareplex for customers who can’t afford downtime while providing services over the Internet. USinternetworking will provide a suite of high availability offerings based on SharePlex as a fixed-price service. Through these solutions, the ASP’s e-business customers will now have the option of implementing a high availability support strategy without the up-front staffing and resource cost of internally supported solutions. One of those customers is TheStreet.com, a Web-based provider of financial news and commentary that will pay a monthly fee and have USi host a replicated copy of its production environment. Quest has had its technology installed in the largest of HP e3000 shops, those in the healthcare segment, where Amisys sites routinely replicate data to avoid downtime.
