HP is waiving return-to-support fees on 3000s

Trying to eliminate more barriers to Y2K compliance, HP launched a “Welcome Back ’99” HP 3000 (and 9000) Upgrade Program, to bring non-supported customers back to support. The offer supports the MPE/iX 5.5 PowerPatch 7 version of the operating system and is available in selected countries worldwide. HP first launched the program for HP-UX servers, and has now extended it to complement its Y2K upgrade program that offers a free copy of MPE/iX for sites which can prove they bought their HP 3000 after January 1, 1995 (See our page one story in our August issue).

The “Welcome Back ’99” program waives HP’s Return to Support fee for PowerPatch 7 support when a customer signs up for a minimum one-year support agreement before April 30, 2000. All MPE/iX customers can take advantage of the support promotion, whether or not they have participated in the free Y2K upgrade program. More information is available for US and Canadian customers at 877.652.9515; customers in Brazil, Israel, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic and Russia also qualify.
