HP engineers announced alpha testing of a new version of the FTP server for MPE/iX, with changes that make the software behave in a way that Web users will expect. The newest FTP/iX adds a switch to operate the server in the Posix mode of “DIR/LS” and “GET/PUT” requests, one of many that will make its operations more like every other FTP server on Web platforms. HP plans to make the new FTP/iX available for the 6.0 and 6.5 releases.
