An HP 3000 with a 20-user MPE/iX license got sold in an eBay auction at year’s end. The Series 927LX went for the bargain price of $2,025 to Stan Sieler. The system’s owner, Dean Ziffle, said he was having some problems getting the license transferred because his sales invoice did not list the user license count, a problem reported by several other owners of 927s and 928s. The owner had bought the system to learn Unix on, but learned HP wouldn’t sell him an HP-UX license for it.
