GCG Data sold its support assets to Vaske

Third party hardware resellers keep improving their resources in the 3000 community this year. The latest evidence was a sale in July of GCG Data’s 3000 support assets to Vaske Computer Solutions, a reseller based in the US Midwest. The support manuals for HP 3000 servers, as well as several HP 3000s, made up the bulk of the transfer, as GCG, led by Chris Gauthier, stepped out of the 3000 support picture. GCG remains in business on two other fronts, as a consulting business that helps acquire HP servers and in an Entertainment Division, which produces music recordings and distributes CDs. Gauthier said GCG Data took out the NDA portions of the repair manuals. Vaske Computer (www.vaskecomputer.com) supports the 3000 servers that it sells to HP 3000 sites in its homesteading business. The company also sells and supports HP 9000s.
