Texas sites will get a roundup of user group training in November

The Greater Houston Regional Users Group is still in the business of mounting conferences, having announced a Nov. 6 date for its “Technology and More Technology” meeting in Houston. Hosted at the group’s traditional venue of the Southwest Hilton, the meeting will include tracks on MPE, HP-UX and Linux, and “technology in general.” A vendor exhibit area is part of the meeting, and MPE Forum chairman Paul Edwards will deliver his comprehensive seminar on getting ready for homesteading — a talk delivered at the Interex Solutions Symposiums this spring, but missing from this year’s HP World lineup of sessions. Platinum migration partners MB Foster, Lund and Speedware will give presentations, and the keynote speaker is Chris Wong, author of the HP-UX Security Book and president of the NOWRUG users group. For more details on the $50 one-day conference see the user group’s Web site at www.ghrug.org.
