CSY offers new
freeware on Jazz

HP has made several new pieces of software which are well-suited for HP 3000 management available at its CSY Web site.

• DSMCheck is a disk space management tool, supplied courtesy of Bradmark

• GNU g++ for 5.5, the most complete C compiler for the HP 3000, now includes gnugroff, thanks to Mark Klein of DIS.

• BLDUVOLl is a shell script that captures volumeset configuration info, written by Mark Bixby.

• UDCs are available for NEWACCT, NEWGROUP, PURGEACCT private volume management

• A new CI script is a random name generator

• A VERSION.PUB.SYS is available which supports more than 100 modules

Recent information additions to the site include a Frequently Asked Questions file on HP Instant Information, the MPE/iX 6.0 LaserROM replacement; “Avoiding Pitfalls in Multi-Language Programming” by HP’s engineers in Roseville; and a COBOL CGI tutorial by Lars Appel.
