Amisys rolled out its last general release of 3000 healthcare software

The final major release of the AMISYS 3000 product line specifically for the HP 3000 — Version 11.01 — went into general availability at the end of August, giving the 90 or so customers a fresh application platform to deploy. Amisys said that 11.01 focuses on providing tools to address HIPAA privacy regulations, and contains additional functionality to provide greater integration with other applications.

Some enhancements provide the ability to add multiple addresses to the member file, record patient consent, and authorize use and disclosure of protected health information. “Release 11.01 is highly evolved and will help our customers meet strict federal privacy regulations,” said Amisys COO Kathy McCarthy. Amisys is sticking to its schedule of having the application available on HP-UX by June, 2003. The new AMISYS Advance product will carry on with enhancements not planned for MPE/iX. All existing interfaces, including the RDE2 and Web Exchange products, will be available in AMISYS Advance. Amisys LLC CEO and president Steve Rock called on his customers to make a commitment to AMISYS Advance during this summer’s customer conference. The company said more than 40 percent of its HP 3000 customers have already decided to move to the new product.
