Check out 2000 compatibility, and chat about MPE, online

Two more good reasons to have Web access to help manage your 3000 surfaced this month. 3K Associates posted a document that outlines Year 2000-safe versions of HP 3000 software for MPE/iX 4.0, 5.0 and 5.5. Get the latest updates at the 3k site. And the HP 3000 got its first dedicated public chat room on the Internet in early March when Denkart hosted a Java-based chat facility on a PC in its labs. By using a Java-enabled browser you can cruise to www.3000.org to swap lines of dialog live with whoever else is listed in the Java applet window. On a Friday afternoon we found SIG-JAVA co-chair Gavin Scott and CSY’s CI guru Jeff Vance online. It’s another way to connect with the helpful 3000 community.
