Minisoft expanded the flexibility of its Java links to and from the 3000

Minisoft’s JDBC, software which it says is the only 2.0-compliant JDBC driver for the HP e3000 server, is adding a new feature called scrollable result sets for Java-to-IMAGE/SQL connections. Version 2.2.2.0 offers scrollable result sets to allow for more flexibility in the processing of results, by providing both forward and backward movement through their contents. In addition, scrollable result sets allow for relative and absolute positioning. As an example, Minisoft (www.minisoft.com, 800.682.0200) cited the potential of moving to the fourth row in a scrollable result set directly, or to move directly to the third row following the current row, provided the row exists. Other new features in the release include support for character stream and object input and output to/from IMAGE/SQL databases; expanded connection properties; enhanced character translation options, and everyone’s favorite, increased performance.
