OpenMPE poll targets leading homestead items

OpenMPE Inc. has identified the top six items that 3000 customers view as key to homesteading. The OpenMPE poll asked customers to specify how quickly they need information on the following items from HP:

• Remove or publish passwords for MPE-unique system utilities no later than end of 2006.

• Enable MPE license transfers/upgrades and hardware re-configuration (add/upgrade processors) to continue after 2006; for emulator usage, changing user license levels, acquiring used e3000 systems.

• Allow third-party creation of an MPE emulator.

• Allow non-HP access to and escrow of MPE source code.

• Enable availability of all public documentation after 2006.

• Enable third-party HP e3000 software support after 2006.

Almost one-third of the customers responding to the poll said they need immediate answers from HP on the six topics to plan and remain HP customers. More than half want decisions from HP by the end of the year on the items.
