STR is dealing on CBT for its products, renamed to reflect an expanded mission

STR Software was kicking off a deal on Computer Based Training for its software at HP World, part of the company’s efforts to emphasize the expanded role of its solutions. The STR (www.strsoftware.com, 804.897.1600, HP World booth 568) CBT program trains on key features of its AventX MPE software, formerly known as FAX/3000. “Our products have evolved to offer far greater information delivery functionality and management than the traditional names implied,” said STR’s Christine Kelly. She said AventX MPE now offers the ability to send documents in PDF format from the AventX Mail (formerly deliver.e) product running in NT and Windows environments.

The CBT software lets MPE users and prospective buyers learn how to use the product “at their own pace, without the expense of on-site technical training or off-site time and travel.” STR said it developed the “highly interactive” CBT program in response to customer requests for a cost-effective end-user training tool to handle employee turnover. AventX MPE is an electronic business information delivery software product designed specifically for the HP e3000. STR says the CBT program educates customers on the features they own but do not use. It’s being sold for $999 through Sept. 30, a 25 percent discount.
