HP pulled its shuttle ads in the tragedy’s wake

After shuttle Columbia disintegrated on re-entry Feb. 1, HP announced it’s removing a TV commercial that featured astronauts. HP had also put astronaut images in the forefront of its print ad campaign during January, ads that are also being removed “out of respect for those lost,” HP’s Rebecca Robboy said. HP’s commercial shows a space-suited astronaut coming home, with a line that HP’s products help space agencies “get their employees home safely.”
