VA7100s better support older HP 3000s

A patch to MPE/iX 7.0, as well as the new MPE/iX 7.5, is giving the Series 9x8, 9x9 and 99X HP 3000s a full shot at using the advanced array features in HP’s Virtual Array 7100 storage units. Patch MPEMXA7 improves the level of performance between the 3000s and 7100s, still the biggest single storage device HP has tested for 3000 customers. The patch is included in the upcoming PowerPatch 2 for MPE/iX 7.0, and the functionality is built into MPE/iX 7.5. Using the VA7100 with the older HP 3000s still requires an SCSI to Fiber router between the devices; the 7100 is an all-FiberChannel device, while the 900 Series 3000s don’t support fiber natively.
